CLEVELAND -- Chad Green was stellar in his last start for the New York Yankees against San Diego. The same couldnt be said of the rkie on Friday night in Cleveland. After allowing one run in six innings against the Padres to earn first career win, Green (1-2) gave up seven runs and four homers in just 4 1/3 innings as the Yankees fell 10-2 to the Indians.Manager Joe Girardi didnt think Green had his best command on Friday, but is lking forward to seeing how the rkie responds to the rough outing. Its tough, but to be successful in this game, youre going to go through some adversity and you got to be able to fight through it, Girardi said. I thought he did a pretty gd job fighting through it.Green served up back-to-back home runs to Carlos Santana and Jason Kipnis to start the game, before allowing a two-run homer to Lonnie Chisenhall later in the first inning. Two innings later, Mike Napoli launched a two-run, 462-ft homer to give Cleveland a 6-0 lead, effectively sealing Greens fate.Though Green was beaten up in his just his third major league start, his confidence remains high. When I got ahead of them, I was fine, Green said. I made four mistakes all game, but those four mistakes cost me seven runs.Brian McCann accounted for both of New Yorks runs, hitting a solo homer in the seventh and an RBI double in the ninth.Richard Belier relieved Green in the fifth and immediately allowed a long RBI double to Francisco Lindor and an RBI single to Napoli. The left-hander allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings.Kipnis added his second solo homer of the night in the seventh off Anthony Swarzak, accounting for a season-high five homers for the Indians. The Yankees struggled almost as much on offense as they did on the mound, as All-Star Corey Kluber (9- allowed just one run, five hits and struck out eight in eight innings.Man, hes gd, New York first baseman Mark Teixeira said. Hes a Cy Young for a reason, Hes an All-Star for a reason, just carving us up.Teixeira was removed from Fridays game in the sixth inning with right knee soreness, which hes dealt with since suffering an articular cartilage tear on June 3.Girardi said the move was precautionary and wouldnt have happened if the Yankees were involved in a closer ballgame. Its something that we have to watch, Girardi said. We were down 8-0, so I figured Id get him out, maybe give him a day off tomorrow and then have him on Sunday again.Though Kluber dominated most of the Yankees lineup, Didi Gregorius continued his recent tear, finishing 2 for 3 with a single and a double. The shortstop is 11 for 28 (.393) on New Yorks 10-game road trip and is hitting .300 this season.TRAINERS RMIndians: OF Michael Brantley (sore right shoulder) tk batting practice for the second straight day and could begin a minor league rehab assignment during the All-Star break.UP NEXTYankees: LHP CC Sabathia, who faces the Indians on Saturday, has struggled in his last three starts, allowing 17 runs, including four homers, in 17 1/3 innings. RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin said Monday that hes had substantive talks with members of law enforcement and Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson after Baldwins call for a review of training tactics used by police.Baldwin first spoke out three weeks ago following police shtings in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. At that time, Baldwin called for all 50 state attorneys general to review policies and training policies for police and law enforcement to eliminate militaristic cultures while putting a higher emphasis on de-escalation tactics and crisis management measures.Since then, Baldwin has had talks with law enforcement in the Seattle area in the effort to gather information that he hopes can change how police officers are trained. Were being very strategic with the people that we meet with, Baldwin said. Again, we dont want this to become a political thing. Were really just trying to find solutions.Baldwin has become a focal point in the conversation regarding interactions with police. He appeared on two different national television shows last week during the Seahawks bye after first making his request last month. The Seattle Police Department confirmed to The Seattle Times last week that some if its personnel had met with Baldwin.Baldwin said the goal for now is coming up with suggestions and solutions that could lead to change in the state of Washington and then lk at the potential for spreading that to a broader group, Baldwin said.We have a lot of data thats coming in, a lot of data that were being given from different sources in terms of the research that were trying to put together, and its very compelling, Baldwin said.dddddddddddd So were trying to build that here, utilize that as a tl, as a model here, and then be able to present that to the other 49 states.Baldwin said most eye-opening in his research has been learning about policies and training that dont fully protect police and put them in a challenging situation. He also noted the difference in how the idea and process of de-escalation is interpreted by law enforcement and by the public. They are placed in these situations sometimes because thats what theyre taught, thats how theyre trained. And then its turned around and they get in trouble or they get prosecuted or lked at in a negative light because of the training that theyve gone through, he said. Their job is a very difficult job, obviously. They put their lives on the line every time they go out onto the street. So I dont understand how were not giving our law enforcement more tls, more training, more resources to go out there and protect themselves and protect the communities that they serve and then ultimately protecting their reputation. I just dont understand how thats not a national effort to do that.---Online:AP NFL website: http://www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL coverage on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
