As a London wedding photographer one of the most exciting factors of the responsibility is the challenge of shting in settings that I’m very privileged to be in. As Jill and James’ wedding day photographer last May I found myself working in two incredible London venues. The crypt at St Pauls is one of London’s unique places of worship and has a staggering sense of historical past. Additionally in May I was given the honour to photograph the wedding day of Rachel and Tim at the Houses of Parliament. This has been among the highlights of the year, as I was granted access to sections which the public seldom see. The crypt is utterly breathtaking and dates back to 1297. There’s an incredible background as by the time of the great fire in 1834 it was being used as a wine storage and also as a stable for Oliver Cromwell’s horse. Today it is resplendent in it’s purbeck marbled columns and is adorned in whimsical carvings of foliage, dragons and the heads of men and beasts. I was lucky enough to be picked as Steve and Hannah’s wedding photographer in London in August at the Yacht Club in Greenwich. I try to seek some thing a bit distinct as a wedding photographer and the combination of industrial equipment as well as the river was a great challenge to sht. Working with a confident and receptive couple can really make the session such a pleasure, and helps make the results even more striking.
