Natsuo Yamaguchi, head of the Komeito Party which is a ruling partner of the Liberal Democratic Party, said Takaichi should avoid the planned visit as Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is seeking a possible meeting with Chinese leader on the sidelines of the Asia- Pacific Economic Cperation Economic Leaders' Meeting slated for November in China.


Leaders of the two countries have never held a meeting due to frayed bilateral relations on territorial and historical issues.
