McLarens full Australian GP-specification car will now be tested for the first time on the season-opening weekend after they ran out of time at Barcelona. The Woking team did introduce new chassis parts onto the MP4-31 at the final test but delays in the manufacturing process at their Woking base meant the full package wasnt ready to run in time for Fridays final day.We are not running the 2016 spec here, said racing director Eric Boullier. We are a bit behind the programme. So that means we are going to turn up in Australia with more bits on the car, which have unfortunately not been signed off here. But it is what it is.Boullier downplayed the reasons for the full specification not arriving in time, saying they were perhaps only guilty of being t ambitious in the production timetable.Although the team will now face a particularly busy Friday practice in Melbourne on March 18, Boullier said they could be pleased with the mileage they were able to complete with the new Honda-powered car during the winter. We have been able to run most of the days, which is very gd news, said Boullier, after McLaren finished fifth on the mileage charts at the final test with 453 laps completed.In terms of chassis, its important that we could go through all the systems, which we couldnt do last year. After removing Cheteshwar Pujara early, England had a great chance to attack with the legspinner when both M Vijay and Virat Kohli were lking to settle in. Instead, Moeen Ali bowled a fairly ordinary 10-over spell allowing them to get set for the long haul. By the time Rashid was brought in, Vijay had reached his ton and Kohli was beginning to dominate the bowling. He got just five overs in the first session and the tactics were baffling.Key performer India had lost Pujara off the second ball of the day while still trailing by 254 runs. They ended the day with a lead of 51. Between the third ball of the day and stumps, Virat Kohli had stitched together yet another mature century proving again how he has lifted his long-form game. Virats slap pull off Stokes in the 69th over which also tk him to 1000 test runs in 2016, Vijays lofted drive over Andersons head in the 77th over and Virats rasping off drive in the 131st over. But one shot that std out was the boundary Virat hit just after reaching his ton in the 121st over. Jake Ball bowled a full wide delivery which Kohli dispatched with a classy square drive. What made the shot great was his hand-eye crdination which accounted for the lack of ftwork. The ball sped across the turf in no time and beat the man sweeping on the off-side boundary. It was also a statement of what was to come.Crowd meter The crowd at the Wankhede was energetic throughout the day. The day started with a few pairs of Punjabi drummers in North, Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar stands playing the drums which made the crowd dance. There was never a dull moment as the crowd cheered every single run with the loud vuvuzela. If there was a lull in the game, Mexican waves were performed to keep everyone on their feet.
