An embattled BCCI is set to convene a meeting of its legal committee next week to discuss the Supreme Courts verdict that made it binding upon the board to implement the majority of the Lodha Committees recommendations within six months. Officials of the board and state associations, which are required to carry out the recommendations concurrently with the BCCI, said the judgment was on expected lines.Nothing unexpected, nothing unusual. This was on the cards only, a BCCI official well versed in legal matters told ESPNcricinfo. He conceded the board had no wriggle rm, and effectively ruled out the option of reviewing the verdict. There is nothing to debate on it. You simply have to just adopt it. Thats what Supreme Court has asked us to do.There is no scope for analysis. What are we going to gain [by reviewing the order]? The Lodha Committee has done everything, so we just have to put in place what it has laid down. The official, however, said it would be difficult for state associations to implement the recommendations within the time frame. The BCCI will do it, but state associations might take a little longer to adopt the same changes, he said. They will all have to amend their constitutions in line with the BCCIs.Meanwhile, state associations are treading cautiously, and waiting for guidance from the BCCI on their next course of action. Officials of five state associations that ESPNcricinfo spoke to confirmed they would firm up their plans after they heard from the BCCI. We are waiting for the official correspondence from the BCCI, Unmesh Khanvilkar, Mumbai Cricket Association joint-secretary said. Once we get that, we will have a discussion about the verdict. We have a meeting of our managing committee on July 24, and if we get a correspondence from the BCCI by then we will discuss it there. The BCCI official said officials entrenched in state associations would be unwilling to giving up their position of influence easily. You cant be an office bearer, but there is nothing that stops you from being a committee member, he said. They will install their trusted allies in their place. The incumbent office bearer can sit in the committee and oversee everything.G Gangaraju, BCCI vice-president and Andhra Cricket Association secretary, who will have to step down by virtue of being over the stipulated age-limit of 70, had suggested former officials could still have a role to play in the functioning of state associations. We can guide the people. We may not be office bearers but we can always lk into [how] things are going on, he said.It is also understd former BCCI president N Srinivasan, who has remained Tamil Nadu Cricket Association president since 2002-03, intends to continue functioning in the state body in a different role. We discussed the situation yesterday. He has to step down as president, but there can be some other position in which we can use his assistance, a TNCA insider said. So long as it is not an elected office, he can function in any manner. That is not an issue, which is why he is not particularly perturbed with the judgement.Basketball Jerseys On Sale . The 45-year-old Wedge was hospitalized Monday when he complained about light-headedness during batting practice. He missed the entire three-game series against Cleveland, but after a battery of tests was sent home from the hospital Wednesday afternn, the Mariners said in a statement. "We are happy to announce that Eric Wedge has been released from the hospital," the statement said. "He is home with his family resting and feeling well. "After much testing the doctors believe he suffered a very mild stroke. The doctors expect that he will have a full and complete recovery." Wedge, the Mariners manager since 2011, wont be in uniform for the Mariners upcoming four-game series against Minnesota and he wont go on the next road trip to Boston and Baltimore. "What he needs to do is stay home for a short period of time. We expect him to be back sner than later," general manager Jack Zduriencik said. "Hes excited. He sounds normal. I talked to him and it sounds like everything is fine and he is ready to roll. "We are going to err on the side of caution, and I think the common sense thing is to have Eric rest. It makes sense that he doesnt take this trip to the East Coast." Zduriencik said Wedge will be evaluated further the next 10 days. Bench coach Robby Thompson will continue to fill in for Wedge, who was the Indians manager from 2003-09. "Im sure there is a lot of concern out there," Thompson said. "Eric is a very caring man and loves every one of those guys in that clubhouse. I think they have that in return for him." Zduriencik and Thompson addressed the team and provided an update on Wedge after the Maariners 10-1 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday.dddddddddddd "Any situation like this that arises, there is concern," Thompson said. "We put our hearts, thoughts and prayers into him and Kate and their extended families. "Fortunately, it was a mild stroke but from here they know what to work with and what to do with him to work his way back." Seattle shortstop Brendan Ryan stressed that Wedge should take his time and not try to rush back to the dugout. "Come back in his own time," Ryan said. "We will be thinking of him and he will be with us, so the sner he gets back the better. "We just wish him the best, speedy recovery." Wedge has been a staunch supporter of many of the Mariners younger players, and now they are offering their support to him. "Its not just me. Its a lot of guys in here," first baseman Justin Smoak said. "A lot of guys, and hes stuck with us a long time now. Hes going to get through this, and we lk forward to have him back." The loss Wednesday was Seattles first since July 12 and it ended the Mariners season-high, eight-game winning streak. Clevelands Scott Kazmir allowed just one hit in eight innings, Michael Bourn hit his first career grand slam, and the Indians salvaged the final game of the three-game series. The only hit Kazmir (6-4) gave up was a clean leadoff single to centre by Smoak in the fifth. Kazmir struck out seven, walked two and allowed an unearned run. "He was a different pitcher than in Cleveland," Thompson said of Kazmir, who allowed five runs and seven hits in three innings against the Mariners on May 20. "He lked like he was the old Kazmir. "Great life on his fastball, location and command of it. That made his secondary stuff even better. Velocity was probably up 4-to-5 mph from when we saw him in Cleveland." ' ' '
