New York, NY (Sports Network) - The United States Tennis Association has decided to add a retractable rf to Arthur Ashe Stadium as part of renovations to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, according to the The New York Post. A Thursday news conference will be held to explain the details. The All England Club features a retractable rf on its famed Centre Court for Wimbledon, as does the main show court at the Australian Open, Rod Laver Arena, and the French Open has announced plans to cover its main court, Court Philippe Chatrier. The U.S. Open is staged every year in late August/early September in Flushing Meadows, where rain has been a major player over the last few years, forcing Monday finishes the last two years. Last year, the USTA announced that it planned to spend $500 million to renovate the National Tennis Center, but said the changes would not include a retractable rf at the 23,000-seat Ashe Stadium, the largest tennis stadium in the world. Buehrle pitched seven scoreless innings and did not walk a batter to earn his fifth win of the season and stop a three-game losing streak for the Blue Jays. Dickey certainly hasnt lived up to the expectations that were put on his shoulders this season after his NL Cy Young season a year ago. However, Dickey has still been the Blue Jays best pitcher. The knuckleballers 8-8 record and 4.59 ERA are both the best of any starter for the Blue Jays while his 82 strikeouts are also a team-high. The last month has been a promising time for Dickey as he has racked up four wins in his six starts since the beginning of June and has allowed two runs or fewer in four of those outings. Dickey has still shown some weakness in that stretch though, as he allowed 13 total runs in the other two starts of that stretch.
