NEW YORK -- Before Phil Jackson can begin reshaping their future, the New York Knicks are trying to make something of this season. Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points, Tim Hardaway Jr. had 20, and the Knicks beat the Milwaukee Bucks 115-94 on Saturday, giving them a season-high six straight victories as they prepare to welcome Jackson back to the franchise. "Weve got to really focus in on whats the task at hand, and thats still trying to make this push and not even lking forward to next season at this point," Anthony said. Amare Stoudemire and J.R. Smith each scored 15 for the Knicks, who easily ended their daytime woes by pounding the team with the NBAs worst record. New York began the day 3 1/2 games behind Atlanta for the final post-season spot in the Eastern Conference. But the playoff push has taken a backseat to the news that Jackson was coming in to run the Knicks front office -- except in the locker rm. "I think our focus is solely on what we have to accomplish to make the playoffs, to be honest," centre Tyson Chandler said. "I know its a lot going on, but as an athlete, you dont pay t much attention to it, because its out of your control, anyway." The Knicks will introduce the 11-time champion as a coach at a press conference Tuesday morning. Jackson will find a team playing its best basketball of a disappointing season. "Better late than never," Stoudemire said. The Knicks shot 55 per cent, led by as much as 25 points and have won six in a row by double digits for the first time since November 1969, according to information provided to the Knicks by Elias. "The easiest thing to do is to start talking about next year at this point in time right now, but the guys on the team seem pretty confident about just staying focused right now, winning basketball games and try to make this push for the playoffs," Anthony said. Nate Wolters scored 15 for the Bucks, who lost their third straight. Brandon Knight and Ramon Sessions each added 14. The Knicks had lost all seven games that began before 30 p.m., six by double digits. Things were so bad earlier this season that coach Mike Wdson even had the players stay overnight in a hotel the night before a home game. But with unusually high energy in the arena for a nn tip, whether because of the winning streak or the Jackson news, the Knicks were sharp from the start. New York made 55 per cent of its shots in a 30-point first quarter, then scored 30 more in the second. The Knicks even got a banked-in 3-pointer from the corner by Iman Shumpert, shortly after Milwaukees Ersan Ilyasova missed a wide-open layup. "I thought we had no real defensive presence," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. The Knicks led 88-66 after three. They have feasted on a weak portion of their schedule to hang around in the playoff race, though things turn tougher with a visit from Indiana on Wednesday. Wdson continues to stress that the Knicks can still make something of this season, though the focus on Jackson has turned much of the attention to the teams future. "Its basketball. Teams, they try to reshape, they go through changes and this is no different," Wdson said before the game. "Youre bringing a great basketball mind into your organization and eventually itll be reshaped. So how and who and when, only time will tell." Jackson played for a pair of title-winning teams in New York, including the 1973 squad whose 40th anniversary the Knicks celebrated last season. The drought seems certain to extend at least another year, even if the Knicks can win enough to get into the post-season. They were helped Saturday with the return of starters Chandler, who missed two games for family reasons, and Stoudemire, who sat out the last one to rest. Shumpert finished with 14 points. "We really feel like were going to get that spot," Chandler said. "If we take care of our business, we do what were supposed to do, we feel like weve got a great shot." Coming off a 6-0 drubbing at Chelsea on Saturday, Arsenal endured another demoralizing result after rallying for a 2-1 lead -- only to concede a fluke equalizer. Per Mertesacker slid in front of Leon Britton to clear a dangerous ball, but it bounced off goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny onto Mathieu Flamini and into the net. Arsenal had trailed after Wilfried Bony put the visitors ahead with a header in the 11th minute. But substitute Lukas Podolski equalized in the 73rd and then set up Olivier Giroud for the second less than 70 seconds later. However, the late equalizer leaves Arsenal six points behind leader Chelsea in fourth place. That last Champions League spot now suddenly lks vulnerable as well, with Everton six points behind with a game in hand as Arsenal lks increasingly likely to finish yet another season fighting for fourth place. "This result tonight hurts us a lot," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said. "The way it happened of course is more frustrating. ... We made a mistake on the second goal, it was not needed." Swansea even left feeling aggrieved after referee Lee Probert blew for full time just as Jonathan de Guzman was racing clear on goal with a chance to net a winner. "For me, its a very pr decision," Swansea manager Garry Monk said. "Its definitely going to be a shot on goal. ... Whether he scores that one or not, I dont know." Arsenal started ambitiously and seemed eager to turn the page on the Chelsea embarrassment. However, tthe home side was caught on the counterattack when Neil Taylor sent a ball into the area and Bony beat defender Thomas Vermaelen in the air to head the opener at the near post.dddddddddddd Arsenal dominated possession for much of the rest of the game but failed to create any clear-cut chances until it netted two goals in the space of 70 seconds midway through the second half. First, Kieran Gibbs cut into the left side of the area and squared for Podolski, who slotted in the equalizer. Shortly after the restart, Swansea gave the ball away and Podolski turned provider as he raced down the left flank and crossed for Giroud, who couldnt miss from close range. Arsenal, which had been bed off the pitch at halftime, seemed to have turned things around only to concede the nearly comical equalizer. "We just wanted to win the game without pushing any more forward, and a mistake happened unfortunately," Wenger said. "The result is very disappointing but the spirit we put in and the effort we put in was great. We have to take it on the chin." Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both started for Arsenal despite the red-card debacle against Chelsea, when Oxlade-Chamberlain handled in the area but Gibbs was mistakenly sent off instead. The red card was transferred to Oxlade-Chamberlain by the Ftball Association on Monday but then rescinded after it ruled that he did not prevent a clear goalscoring opportunity. Sweden midfielder Kim Kallstrom, who was signed on the last day of the January transfer window only to be ruled out with a back injury a day later, made his debut as a substitute after Arsenals second goal. diesfromchina.com/" target="_blank">Wholesale Hdies NFL Shirts Outlet Jerseys NFL Wholesale Cheap NFL Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Jerseys Cheap Cheap NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys ' ' '
